How I Fit Meditation Into My Life As A New Mom

How I Fit Meditation Into My Life As A New Mom

April 21, 2020 By //  by Jennifer H Leave a Comment

Meditation is a nice way to relax as a new mother. Their is so much stress related to being a first time parent. A lack of sleep means having to come up with ways to recoup. Meditation is a perfect way to balance the mind and take time out to realize everything is going to be okay. You don’t have to pay big bucks to have an effective meditation session. Come up with a mantra you can repeat over and over. Visualize a light beam hitting your body and relaxing every individual muscle. Commit to doing this every day and you will feel a new sense of peace.

Key Takeaways:

  • Determine your meditation moment. It’s likely in the wee hours before the sun comes up, but it sets the tone for the entire day.
  • If you can’t afford to take a family vacation or the thought of bringing little ones on a long plane ride gives you pause, go there in your mind.
  • Your children may even take on your newfound state of calm making for a happier, healthier, and more mindful family.

“There’s even an added bonus: Meditation may help you reach a healthy post-pregnancy weight. Researchers from U.C.–San Francisco found that meditation can play a role in helping women manage their eating habits, which can lead to weight loss over time.”
