There are many natural ways to improve your immune system, which is your body’s network of organs, proteins, and white blood cells that fight off infections. Herbs such as echinacea, ginseng, elderberry, and astragalus root have been found to help the body fight off cold and flu viruses. Several foods including bone broth, green tea, and foods that contain vitamin C or beta-carotene have antioxidant powers to help shield the body from infections. You can also make lifestyle changes to boost your immune system that include getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, reducing stress, and cutting back on your alcohol consumption. A combination of any of these boosters may have you catching less colds and flu viruses during the winter season.
