Magnesium is found in a variety of different foods and it is important to note that your body requires magnesium to function well. People who don’t sleep well or have trouble falling asleep will often times have a magnesium deficiency. The nervous system needs to be able to calm itself in order to relax and fall asleep and without adequate magnesium, this is much harder to do. Magnesium regulates the hormone melatonin which also helps you fall asleep at night.
